Just thought it might be interesting to reference the Financial Times Most Successful Brands" results and check if the cool factor comes into success. There are plenty of cool "losers" for example "The Dude" in the Big Lebowski. But ultimately despite being thoroughly likeable, at the end of the film, he's in no better position than he was before.
